
THE SITUATION
A crypto based financial services business with a clear product and real commercial ambition – but without the infrastructure to match. There was no cohesive go-to-market strategy, no functioning marketing team, and an operations layer that needed building from scratch. The founders were new to the business world and had received the backing of some well known investors.
WHAT I DID
I came in across the full commercial and operational picture – acting as board advisor while also running day-to-day operations. The scope covered go-to-market strategy, brand development, building the marketing team from scratch, and implementing an OKR framework across the organisation.
I led the hire and onboarding of a COO – and once they were embedded and the operational foundations were in place, I phased off.
THE OUTCOME
Go-to-market strategy in place. Built a fully remote (across location and timezone) marketing team, onboarding and enabled delivery as well as an experienced Marketing Director to implement and lead – growing the marketing team from 1 to 5. Embedded an OKR framework across the organisation. COO hired and onboarded. Operations running independently.
